We are thrilled to announce that Placebo will be hosting an exclusive secret after-party club night for the Leeds date of their UK tour to raise awareness for the charity CALM…
The night will not only feature exclusive intimate DJ sets from Placebo themselves, but also from the provocative Reverend and the Makers front man Jon McClure, MJ of Leeds natives Hookworms and Jamie Baker & Matt Southall of OFFICERS.
Placebo are approaching their 20th year together and are celebrating with a two year period of retrospective activity beginning this year and encompassing a world wide tour. For the UK leg, the Newcastle and Sheffield dates have already sold out, extra dates have been added to London, and the Leeds date is now being primed to be a riotous occasion.
The band has been extremely keen to use the Leeds O2 Academy show of their UK tour to help draw attention to the charity’s efforts in North. The organization provides help with, and actively tackles, mental health problems in an effort to prevent suicide, which is currently the biggest killer of young men in the UK.
The currently secret after-party will take place just a stone’s throw away from the O2 academy. The first batch of early bird tickets are available for the after-party NOW, and fans attending the O2 gig can receive a further added discount (meaning entrance for the price of a couple of coffees!) with ALL proceeds going straight to CALM.
More details on the exact location will be made available very soon – but tickets are in limited numbers so snap them up quick!
This includes a one off exclusive special Placebo20 art print, framed and signed by the artist and all the bands involved. This exclusive piece will be auctioned online, with all proceeds again going direct to Calm.
So keep your ears to the ground on this one! As well as being part of a one off event, you can give yourself a pat on the back knowing everyone has come together to help a great cause.
It’s sure to be an extremely memorable night that will make an invaluable contribution to a vitally important, and underrepresented charity.
